Throughout 2017, Marie Diggs Ministries (MDM) conducted multiple evangelism conferences and ministry engagements within the United States and one overseas. The various groups of people were asked the following question: “When was the last time a person approached you with the full Gospel message, witnessed to you, and attempted to lead you into salvation or rededication?”
Summary of Responses to Our Poll
• Most people polled signified that they had not been approached within ten years or more.
• A vast number of believers are not evangelizing.
• In the last ten to fifteen years, there has been a drastic decline in the number of churches that equip the body of Christ in their congregation to evangelize.
• Many churches claim to evangelize in other nations but struggle to reach people in America.
• Evangelism has become a lost art.
Instead of focusing on why believers are not evangelizing, let’s focus on equipping and mobilizing the body of Christ.
Activate Your Circle of People to Evangelize by Taking a Poll
List your believing family members, friends, and acquaintances whom you plan to approach with a poll. Record their responses and check them off the list once you have spoken with them.
• Ask them to honestly share with you the last time that they’ve shared the Gospel leading someone either into salvation or rededication.
• Do not condemn them if they have never evangelized or haven’t done it in a while.
• Encourage them to step up and begin to evangelize.
• Allow your lifestyle of evangelism to inspire them.
There is much work for believers to do. Jesus is waiting on believers everywhere to take up the mantle that He left for them to enlarge God’s family!
“...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to help you to be obedient to this scripture.
