Stand Your Ground

The phrase “stand your ground” is an idiom that refers to a law in the United States of

America that allows an individual to use force that would otherwise be illegal against a

person that poses an immediate threat of serious bodily harm.  This law allows for an

individual to “stand one’s ground” instead of retreating when being attacked.

This same law is found in God’s Word, for He expects you to stand your ground when

the devil poses a threat of any kind against you or your loved ones. He wants you to

use the name of Jesus to drive the devil and His works out of your body and your mind,

away from your job and finances, and He desires for you to uproot any work of the devil

out of your life.

To be successful in this endeavor, you must determine within yourself that you will

remain steadfast and unmovable! You cannot withdraw your faith because the devil

persists in bombarding your mind with lies of defeat, you cannot back up if you are

experiencing pain within your body, you mustn’t crumble when mental and emotional

attacks are coming from your family, or from the people on your job.

Rather, God expects you to submit yourself unto Him, resist the devil, and watch him

flee from you according to James 4:7. To resist the devil means to refuse to comply with

His wishes for your life. And as you resist him, know that you are fighting the good fight

of faith!

Thus, remain clearheaded and observant.  Not allowing any wrong thinking to hinder

you from winning the batter over the devil.

1 Peter 5:8-10 says, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a

roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the

faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the

world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ

Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle

you.

As you stand untroubled and unconcerned in the midst of the battle, remember that your

God, the God of all grace, is repairing, restoring, and firmly securing you, making your

victory sure!

Therefore, continue to stand your ground, for retreating is not an option!
